About Lisa

My entrepreneurial spirit has its roots in the specialty toy industry.  For the first 10 years of mommy-dom I worked at a little toy store called Funz-A-Poppin'! starting out as a part-time Toyologist (it really said that on our name tags) and eventually becoming the manager.  The first time I went to to Toy Fair in New York, my life was changed forever.

Surrounded by manufacturers, retailers, sales reps, inventors and venture capitalists of all shapes and sizes from all over the globe, I was electrified by the the palpable energy of the environment.   As I walked the aisles of the Javits Center and the streets of Manhattan I felt like I had my finger on the pulse something extraordinary.  I was bitten by the business bug and nothing has been the same since.

A year later I bought that little toy store and in my first year doubled the gross revenue and trippled the net profit - I had a natural and intuitive flair for marketing. Who knew?

I became active in the industry and served on the Board of Directors for ASTRA, the American Specialty Toy Retail Association, a national organization comprised of retailers, manufacturers and sales representatives in the specialty toy industry, working cooperatively for industry-wide benefit.  Great people filled with great passion.

The shift in the retail landscape during the late 90's hit Southeastern Massachusetts especially hard and in 2001 I made the difficult decision to close the doors of Funz-A-Poppin'!

The next stop on the path to Planit Production was the mortgage industry.  I started in sales and wound up as General Manager for a family of four privately held companies in the mortgage and real estate industry; overseeing and developing policies, procedures, business development and project management.  Losing that job when the bottom started falling out of mortgages was a blessing in disguise.  I was ready to do my own thing again and so Planit Production was born.

It seems I posess the ability to do something I thought everyone could do with equal ease.  I am good at grasping the 'big picture' as well as honing in on the details necessary to produce desired results.  One of my greatest strengths is in the area of analysis and strategic planning especially when it comes to efficient and effective marketing on a small business budget to get big business results.

So that is exactly what I do now.  I help people profit from their passion without breaking the bank to do it - with a focus on using web technology strategically.

About Planit

I started Planit Production because I love business; all types of business.  I enjoy seeing people succeed at business -  especially a business that springs from an inner passion.

I believe that a business is the outward expression of the desires of a human spirit arranged as a set of products, services and systems.

So, helping someone succeed at their business represents more than just achieving a profitable bottom line.  It equates to helping people live their dream and purpose.

If you have a passion and vision for your business but are struggling with getting it where you want it to be, then you have come to the right planit!
About the Logo

After reading The E-Myth Revisited by Michael Gerber, I was inspired to have my son create these characters. They are intended to echo Michael Gerber's characterization of the three key roles of every business owner:

the entrepreneur - Seymour, a girafe with entrepreneurial vision
the manager - Ally, a cat with a need for order and talent for creating systems and structure
the technician - Murray Wart, a frog who is highly skilled at what he does and relies on Ally's
systems to help him deal with Seymor's unnerving flow of endless ideas.

I chose them as a logo to serve as a reminder of the need that every business owner has to continually seek balance among these key elements as they journey along the winding path towards achieving their business vision.
